2nd Olhão International Walking Football Tournament

Thursday 15th and Friday 16th October 2020
Following our successful 2018 tournament East Algarve Walking Football is staging its second tournament at the well appointed Olhão Municipal Stadium with it’s 4G astro-turf playing surface.
It will follow a similar configuration to the inaugural tournament, played over two days with a 7-a-side walking football format and two age categories 50+ and 60+ with eight teams in each section.
A Tournament Dinner will be held on the Friday evening with tickets priced in the region of €20 per head for a three course meal inclusive of wine, beer, soft drinks and coffee.
On registration at the event proof of age will be required i.e. copies of passport, residencia, national identity card or drivers licence with photo ID; personal information may be redacted as long as the name, date-of-birth and photograph are clearly visible.
The rules will be finalised shortly and they will be inline with the current Laws of the Game and rules of Walking Football.
The tournament will be played at the Municipal Stadium, Olhão, Portugal just 5 kms east of Faro and the main airport.
We do not wish or intend to make money from the tournament but hope to provide an efficiently run and relaxed competitive tournament.
We will be asking for an up front non-refundable fee of 150€ per team by 30 April 2020. However It will be first come, first served and of course the earlier flights, hotels etc. are booked the cheaper they will be.
50 euros will be refunded to you at the tournament and any money left over from the remaining 100 euros, will be donated to charity. The deposits can be paid in sterling to a UK bank account or by international transfer to a Portuguese bank account. Both accounts are held by our EAWF President Chris Wright BEM and account details will be provide on request.
We have already received enough interest to fill the two age groups and with limited amount of spaces in each age group, we would encourage an early application and payment to secure a place.
We do not book your accommodation, flights nor insist you stay at a certain hotel, the flights are already out for next October.
We will be more than happy to guide you in the right direction, but we are not a search engine. We find that booking.com, trivago.com and other booking websites can offer better deals than the hotels themselves. We have very good reports of the Real Marina Residence, Avenida 5 de Outubro 2, Olhão 8700 with its excellent self-catering facilities. A free bus service will be available morning & evening from the Real Marina Hotel, for players and supporters, to and from the stadium. All teams are responsible for their travel between Faro airport and their accommodation.
When you are ready to commit to the tournament contact and he will give you bank details to transfer the 150 euros.
Please do not book any flights or accommodation before making the payment to avoid disappointment.
