Tuesday walking football sessions may change venue for July/August
Due to the holiday season in Tavira, we may have to change venue for the Tuesday walking football session to the velodrome (Estádio Municipal de Tavira) at the bottom of the hill. Unfortunately we don’t know definitively until the day itself, but it is likely to be for the remainder of July and all of August. It does apply to tomorrow (July 12th).
Summer Padel Tennis Day
We are holding a fun Padel tennis tournament on Sunday 31st July at Pedras da Rainha, Cabanas.
EAWF visit Real Betis
Friday July 1st 2022 saw East Algarve Walking Football (EAWF) take the 2-hour trip east across the border to Seville to play a mini-tournament with our friends from Real Betis.
Monday sessions in Olhão suspended for the summer
Due to the very small numbers attending on a Monday morning in Olhão it has been decided that this session will be suspended over the summer period.
The session on Wednesday will continue and will be open to anyone over 50 (with visiting friends and relatives etc. able to join in regardless of age).
We hope to restart Monday sessions in September if we can get more local interest to boost the numbers.
Friday’s non-contact session cancelled
Due to various people not being available, the non-contact session in Olhão on Friday May 27th has been cancelled. We hope to resume on Friday June 3rd.
Non-contact session on 13th May cancelled
A shortage of players (Oistein is having a new knee tomorrow, plus several others are back in the UK) and high temperature forecast means we’ve cancelled Friday’s session. The fact it is Friday 13th had no bearing on the decision!
EAWF return to winning ways at Vilamoura
Following the disappointing results at EuroCopa at the end of April, East Algarve Walking Football (EAWF) bounced back to victory at the 5th Browns Walking Football Festival in Vilamoura on May 6–7th 2022.

The Third EuroCopa Walking Football Tournament was held in Ferreiras, Albufeira, on April 25th and 26th, 2022.

Over 60s session tomorrow cancelled
Due to our exertions in the Albufeira tournament, tomorrow’s over 60s session in Olhão (27th April) has been postponed. All players are more than welcome to attend the non-contact session on Friday instead.
