A group of seventeen Walking Footballers, all over 60 years of age, from the Mature Millers (Rotherham United FC Community Sports programme) descended on Olhão for two days of friendly but competitive sport organised by East Algarve Walking Football.
Browns Walking Football (Vilamoura) joined the festivities on the first day and, despite the inclement weather, skill and ball control were much in abundance. At a celebratory dinner Chris Baker (Mature Millers captain) was presented with a pennant and framed photo record of the visit.
Chris added, “We’ve had a great time and hope to return for the international tournament in November. There is no doubt that walking football has brought together people from all walks of life and from many different cultures. Long may it continue.”
Thanks to all for a great time, good company and a super spirt……we had a blast.
Great to see you all Chris, and look forward to next time.
