It is with deep sadness that we have learnt of the passing of Gail Buchanan in Scotland after a long and brave battle against cancer.
Fifty years ago Gail trained at Jordanhill Teacher Training College, Glasgow, and went on to work successfully in the travel industry before opening a shop with her husband Ross in Tavira Conceicao.
The East Algarve Walking Football family extends its heartfelt condolences to Ross and his family at this very sad time.
There is a tribute site dedicated to Gail at https://gail-buchanan.muchloved.com/ where you can leave any messages or make donations to “Maggie’s Centres” which provide cancer support.
The Anual EAWF Christmas Party will be held on December 12th 2019 at the same venue as last year, Chicken Piri Piri on the N125 east of Tavira and Cabanas.
All are welcome to the EAWF Informal Beach Party on August 1st 2019, from 2.30 pm

Jonjo Shelvey, capped six times by England and currently with Newcastle United, was a welcome guest at last Thursday’s EAWF session in Olhão.

Unfortunately the session in Tavira on Monday June 24th has had to be cancelled as it is Tavira City Day and all public facilities are closed. Please let everyone know.
There will be no WF session at Tavira on June 10th due to the national holiday of Portugal Day. Please pass the word.
All will be welcome at Olhao on Tuesday June 11th regardless of age (as long as they are prepared to play at a much slower pace) to keep your fitness levels up.
We know it’s way in advance, but the Mighty Millers are visiting us again in 2020
