We are planning some first aid courses in the New Year for anyone that is interested.
The training will last 6 hours and will cover basic first aid and resuscitation, with practical tuition.
Candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
Please note this is not a certificate of competence and as such candidates will not be a “registered first aider” but will have received very important first aid skills and knowledge.
Could those interested in receiving the training please contact Peter Diprose at a football session or call on 916 730 675

Playing both normal football and walking football with us all week, the group had a great time and are already planning another trip next year.
The session in Tavira this Friday, November 1st, has been cancelled as it is a national holiday, Dia de Todos os Santos (All Saints Day), to honour the dead.

It is with deep regret that we have to announce the sudden death of Steve Williams at Walking Football in Olhão on the 26th September.
Despite the valiant efforts of EAWF members present and the subsequent prompt and highly professional attention of SNS paramedics, Steve failed to recover.
We send our heartfelt condolences to his wife Angela, family and friends.
Bubbly and homemade cakes were the order of the day as players, officials and friends toasted the 5th anniversary of walking football being introduced to the Algarve in September 2014. Since then hundreds of players have enjoyed some wonderful moments of fun, fitness and friendship whilst along the way a number of tournament victories have been the icing on the cake!
We will be cracking open a few bottles of bubbly at Olhao after the walking football session on Thursday 19th September to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the introduction of walking football to the Algarve.
For the next few months, EAWF will be raising funds and awareness in respect of diabetes. The fund raising will be from raffles and events organised by EAWF and a “one off” awareness event.
