Running “normal” football session arranged for November 22nd

Following a good response to our question whether people would be interested in a “normal” running football session, we have arranged a session on Wednesday November 22nd at the usual venue in Tavira, from 9.30 am til 11.30 am. It is hoped that these sessions will then continue on a weekly basis if interest remains high.

All are welcome, so feel free to pop along and stretch those legs a bit.

Presentation to Casa Benfica (Tavira)

We will be presenting a cheque for €500 from the Brian Kilcline evening to the kids football section of Casa Benfica (Tavira) at our usual venue in Tavira on Saturday 21st october, 3 pm. We might also be playing WF against the youngsters which could be an eye opener.

PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON OCTOBER 21st at 3.00 pm

Lots to tell you….

We now have an events page on our website, where you will find details on all the upcoming social activities and tournaments. This can be found here.

We are also looking into starting a new session in Olhao on Tuesdays beginning in October. This will be strictly for the over 60s (following our normal WF rules with minimal contact). Hopefully this will give players who feel our normal Thursday sessions are a little “competitive” a chance to enjoy themselves with even less chance of injury etc.

We are also looking at starting a running football session for those interested, which will start in October at Tavira (likely on a Wednesday). Please let us know if you are interested in this so we can gauge numbers by emailing us at . Many thanks to Steve Johnson for volunteering to help organise this.

Additionally, how about a game of walking cricket? To celebrate our 3-year anniversary we are arranging an afternoon of cricket/football/picnics/what have you at Tavira after our normal Monday WF session in late September. More details will follow, but again let us know your interest by emailing us at .

Finally, we have a number of tournaments (both major and more social) coming up over the next few months; see our events page for more details.

An Evening with our own Brian Kilcline

There will be an evening with Brian Kilcline, FA Cup Final winning captain in 1987, held at the Black Anchor, Tavira Riverside, on Thursday 14th September at 7.00 pm for 7.30 pm.
