As we approach the ‘tournament season’ it is a good time to  reflect on our achievements and look to the future. It is nearly four years since the first Walking Footballers stepped out on to the Astro-turf at the José Arcanjo Stadium, Olhão, and no one could have imagined the progress that has been made thanks to the combined effort of many individuals.

A group of seventeen Walking Footballers, all over 60 years of age, from the Mature Millers (Rotherham United FC Community Sports programme) descended on Olhão for two days of friendly but competitive sport organised by East Algarve Walking Football. British Ambassador meeting with the British community here in the Algarve

As formal withdrawal negotiations continue, the British Ambassador, Kirsty Hayes, will be in the Algarve on Thursday, 30 November, to meet members of the local British community to respond to questions and concerns about the UK’s exit from the European Union.

Christmas dinner tickets: payment needed

Thanks to everyone who has ordered tickets for the Xmas Dinner to be held on December 7th. Can we request that anyone who is still to pay for their tickets does so by Monday December 4th at the latest. Tickets will only be issued on payment. If you have a problem getting payment to us (i.e. you are in the UK or similar), please let Sue know by emailing her (click here).

Also, we are still asking for any old Xmas decorations you may have that you could donate, or if you have an artistic bent and would like to make some table decorations please get in touch with Sue on the email above. It would be nice to feel really festive on the night.
