From now on, our walking football session at Tavira will be held on a Friday morning (not Monday as in the past) from 9.30 am to 11.30 at the new venue (the Eduardo Mansinho Sports Stadium).
Our Wednesday normal rules running football sessions will continue on a Wednesday, also at the new venue (map above), but this will run from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Following their hospitality towards us in Lisbon on a previous visit, Benfica are making the trip to the Algarve and will join us on Thursday October 25th for a mini friendly tournament for the John Mortimer Trophy, along with our friends from Denmark.
As most of you know, we have recently been playing both Monday and Wednesday sessions in Tavira at the Estadio Municipal de Tavira (or the velodrome), but we now need to inform you all of some changes for the next couple of weeks.
Walking Football was introduced to the Algarve 4 years ago and has become a runaway success with groups now walking their way to fitness in Vilamoura, Lagos, Tavira and Olhão, where it all started.
We will be hosting an evening at the Hairy Lemon in Conceicao de Tavira on Thursday October 11th.
As we’re sure you know by now, the October 2018 Vilamoura tournament will be held at Browns Club, Vilamoura, on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October.

We have entered a team for the Algarve SuperVets 7-a-side tournament. Please note, this is full-on running over 45s 7-a-side and so could be quite physical.
The running football session on Wednesday August 15th will not take place, as it is a public holiday in Portugal. Spread the word……
Following on from their successful visit last February, the Mature Millers from Rotherham are visiting us again.
